Bosnia & Herzegovina August 2024: Skoda Octavia and Scala on top in negative mark

The Skoda Scala is up to #2 in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Thanks to our local partner CE Auto , we can share with you today August data for the Bosnian market. Sales drop -8.7% year-on-year to 999 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 4.4% to 8,280. The Skoda Octavia (+48.7%) stays at #1 while the Skoda Scala (+323.1%) soars to #2 and now ranks #5 year-to-date vs. #9 as of last month. Yet another solid score by the VW Golf (+25.8%) up to #3 for the month, a ranking it now also holds year-to-date. The Skoda Fabia (-5%) and Renault Clio (-13.9%) round out the Top 5 with the Skoda Kamiq (+34.8%) at equal #5. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+45%) is off five ranks on last month to #7 but remains strong year-on-year. Slovakia August 2024: Skoda Fabia up to #1, MG break records

The Skoda Fabia is the most popular vehicle in Slovakia in August. The Slovak new car market slips -5.1% year-on-year in August to 7,107 sales. This means the year-to-date volume is now up just 0.2% to 61,068. Strikingly, the Top 4 brands all fall faster than the market, Skoda (-7.8%) resists best and leads the way as usual with 19.1% share. Kia (-13.2%) advances to #2 and snaps the 4th place year-to-date in the process. Toyota (-30.8%) is hit hard but climbs back to #3 vs. #5 in July, while Hyundai (-16.1%) stays at #4. Volkswagen (-1.6%) drops three spots on last month to #5. Below, Peugeot (+56.7%) and Citroen (+149.3%) both post surreal gains with Opel (+29.6%) also strong at #10 vs. #15 year-to-date. MG (+491.2%) breaks its ranking (#12), volume (201) and share (2.8%) records, with its previous best being #13 and 2.1% hit both in December 2023 and May 2024. China retail August 2024: BYD up to 360,000 sales, Jetour, Leapmotor at all time high

Jetour breaks its monthly volume record in August… We can share with you today All brands and All models retail sales data for China in August. Sales for the selection of vehicles included in this report grow 4.6% year-on-year to 1,929,447 units. The year-to-date volume is also in positive at +2.6% to 13,080,727. BSCB is the only non-Chinese medium to cover both wholesales (ex-factory shipments) and retail sales data for China so you can get the most complete picture of the largest new car market in the world. Retail sales tend to give a more authentic picture of the market as they roughly correspond to registrations by end-customers and are more difficult to artificially boost with exports which can sometimes be the case for wholesales data.
