Cyprus August 2025: Hyundai Tucson leads, Renault Arkana up to #5

The Hyundai Tucson is the best-selling vehicle in Cyprus in August.

According to data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT, the Cypriot new car market drops a harsh -12.2% to just 713 sales, leading to a year-to-date tally off -5.4% to 10,371. This month Hyundai (+2.2%) storms into pole position with 12.9% share vs. 9.2% so far this year. As a result is climbs two spots on the YTD ladder to #2. Toyota (-15.9%) is in difficulty but repeats at #2 ahead of a surging Nissan (+109.4%) up two spots on July to #3. Still by far #1 year-to-date, Kia (-75.2%) implodes to #4 but also suffers a particularly high year-ago basis as it reached a huge 26.8% share in August 2024. BMW (+91.7%) also stuns at #5 with a strong 6.5% share. Other great performers include Renault (+152.9%), Jeep (+135.7%) and Dacia (+115.4%). Newcomer BYD is already #11 with 3.1% share for only its first full month in market.

Over in the models charts, the Hyundai Tucson (-27.7%) grads the top spot with 4.8% share but is stuck in third place year-to-date, the same ranking it held over the Full Year 2024. #1 last month, the Kia Sportage (-17.6%) drops to #2 while the Toyota Yaris Cross (+80%) repeats at an excellent third place vs. #11 so far this year. The next four models all post surreal gains, with the Renault Arkana (+475%) the best performer at #5 followed by the Hyundai Kona (+250%), Nissan Qashqai (+225%) and Juke (+120%). The Jeep Avenger (-38.7%) is back up to #8.
