Image
Hyundai sales in Morocco are up 83% year-on-year in November. 15,826 new light vehicles hit Moroccan roads in November for a 5th consecutive year-on-year uptick at +14.9%. In the detail, passenger cars are up 15,8% to 13,921 and light commercials grow 8.8% to 1,905. 136,741 new passenger cars found a buyer over the first 11 months of the year, up 5.7%. Dacia (+10%) manages a double-digit gain but sees its share thaw to 22.4% vs. 25.2% YTD. Renault (+0.5%) is stable which is a poor performance, yet it reaches 15.5% of the market vs. 15.2% so far this year. Like last month Hyundai (+83%) and Volkswagen (+62.9%) post stellar results, joined by Citroen (+86.1%), Skoda (+43.4%) and Opel (+35.9%) in the remainder of the Top 10. In contrast, Kia (-20.4%), Peugeot (-8.5%) and Audi (-2.2%) all lose ground. BYD (+1775%) scores the best performance in the market yet again and we welcome GWM directly at #17. Image
The Honda HR-V ranks inside the Malaysian Top 10 in November. The Malaysian new car market amounts to 71,818 units in November, leading to a year-to-date tally at 771,863. We have very stable rankings both for brands and models. Perodua holds 44.3% market share, a smidge below its October level, while Proton is at 16.2% and Toyota at 14.4%, here too similar to last month. Honda surges to 9.8% vs. 8.4% in October just as Jaecoo signs another impressive month at #5 with 2% share. Mercedes is up one spot to #7, Chery is up two to #8 and Mazda down two to #9. BYD cracks the Top 10 at #10. Notice also Haval up 10 ranks to #15 and GAC up 14 to #31. Over in the models charts, the Top 5 is unchanged on October with the Perodua Bezza at 13.2% share, its best since August. It distances the Perodua Axia at 10.6% and the Perodua Myvi at 9.1%, both seeing slight decreases compared to last month. The Proton Saga is at 7.6% and the Perodua Alza at 5.7%, identical to their October levels. The Toyota...

Uruguay November 2024: BYD (+241.2%), Citroen (+102.7%) shine in strong market

Image
BYD signs the best performance in the Top 10 in November. It’s another very solid month for new light vehicle sales in Uruguay with November up 15.2% year-on-year to 6,344 units. This brings the year-to-date tally up 9.5% to 56,900. Chevrolet (-23.8%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date despite a ghastly year-on-year fall. Only 7 units below is Fiat (+38.9%) in outstanding shape with Volkswagen (+58.5%) doing even better at #3 with 11.2% share vs. 8.7% so far this year. Renault (+5.8%) is more timid at #4 while Hyundai (+63.6%) smashes it and rounds out the Top  5 as it does year-to-date. BYD (+241.2%) posts by far the best performance in the Top 10 and climbs to 6th place with 8% share which is the brand’s 2nd best score below the 12% it held back in June. China retail November 2024: Market up 27.4%, Jetour, Leapmotor, Xpeng, Deepal, Xiaomi and Bestune among record breakers

Image
Xiaomi SU7 sales keep improving month after month, now above 23,000. Retail sales are in for China, and it’s a bumper month, up 27.4% year-on-year to a record 2,388,475 for the models included in this report. This means the year-to-date volume is now up 8.3% to 19,892,401. BSCB is the only non-Chinese medium to cover both wholesales (ex-factory shipments) and retail sales data for China so you can get the most complete picture of the largest new car market in the world. Retail sales tend to give a more authentic view of the market as they roughly correspond to registrations by end-customers. This way, they are more difficult to boost with exports, as is sometimes the case for wholesales. Note imports, pickups and medium to heavy commercials are not included in this dataset, but it sometimes includes a more detailed split by model variant. The BYD Seagull is up to over 55,000 sales in November. BYD (+85.7%) continues to clearly dominate the brands charts, almost doubling its year...
